The Florida Department of Health’s, Division of Children’s Medical Services developed the Florida Pediatric Behavioral Health Collaborative initiative in partnership with universities and health care systems to implement regional pediatric mental health care evidenced-based access teams, called regional Behavioral Health Hubs.

The aim of this evidenced-based model is to provide Florida’s pediatric or primary care providers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability to improve their confidence in identifying and treating children with common mental health needs such as ADHD, anxiety, or depression.

Providers enroll, free of charge, to participate in integrated behavioral health practice transformation services and ongoing skill-building training. Hubs offer primary care providers telepsychiatry consultation and care coordination services to link parents to community behavioral health support resources. In addition, the Florida Pediatric Behavioral Health statewide hotline serves providers not associated with a hub.
